D.i.Re - Women on the Net against violence sent to the Order of Journalists a report relating to the article From drugs to waking up, two opposing versions – published in Libero and signed by Filippo Facci, underlining the passage in which he writes “a 22-year-old girl was undoubtedly high on cocaine before being high by Leonardo La Russa and therefore each of her stories will be made equivocal by the powder taken before entering the disco…".

D's request.i.Re all'Ordine is to evaluate violations of the Code of Conduct: the sentence is highly damaging and offensive to the dignity of the woman who has filed a complaint and has no purpose linked to the right to information.

It is also the umpteenth case in which Facci enjoys blaming the victims of a serious crime such as sexual violence, without – so far – having paid any penalty.

"We have decided to write to the Order of Journalists, certainly to report a violation of the code of ethics, but also and above all, to make clear how much secondary victimization comes from newspapers and from the actions of those who make the leakage of confidential information possible" declares Antonella Veltri, president of D.i.Re - Women on the Net against violence. "Once again we are baffled by the amount of violence that women who report are forced to suffer: after having survived a crime, they also have to defend themselves from those who publicly attack them, making them pass from victims to protagonists of the facts. This hateful mode does not do justice to women and fosters the right climate to nurture these crimes. We expect serious action." concludes Veltri.
