PRESS RELEASE

D.i.Re – Women on the Net against violence in Venice: it starts with a strong political denunciation.

"The assault on women by the NUDM movement bears witness to a climate that we cannot tolerate, we cannot accept.

We accepted the proposal of the Feminicide Commission to be present in Venice, sharing - in a democratic and secular regime - the need for discussion, each from their own position and in respect of their roles, the need for a cultural change to prevent and combat male violence to women.

Democratic and legitimate protest is part of the system of democracy in which we live and for which we will continue to fight to strengthen it, certainly not to weaken it” declares Antonella Veltri, president D.i.Re – Donne in Rete contro la violenza

"D.i.Re will be in Venice to dismantle the models of patriarchy that crowd the public and private scene of our country, today in Venice as well as in every remote and less remote corner of our country.

D.i.Re will be in Venice for a strong political denunciation which, unfortunately, starts from an episode that is not sporadic and occasional, showing the true face of rooted male power and patriarchy” – continues Veltri.

"We are and will always be on the side of all women” – concludes the president.
