AnciSicilia has signed the memorandum of understanding involving the Association Cedav of Messina (Centro Donne Antiviolenza), Thamaia Onlus of Catania, Le Onde Onlus of Palermo - the regional associations associated with the national association D.i.Re - and the Federsanità AnciSicilia.

Among the objectives of the agreement, the launch of a collaboration to promote and develop actions, projects or initiatives aimed at preventing and combating male violence against women, with particular regard to raising awareness and information on gender-based violence, in compliance with national and international legislation, directives and recommendations of international organizations such as the United Nations and the WHO.

In a moment like this that sees the phenomenon of violence against women spreading too vigorously, AnciSicilia wants to offer its commitment and do its civic duty through an incisive tool such as active collaboration between experts, proposed by the protocol that we have just signed up ".

“We will invite all Sicilian mayors - explains Mario Emanuele Alvano, general secretary of AnciSicilia - to insert a special information section in the institutional sites of their municipality in order to set up an operational network against violence against women. We have also prepared an information leaflet and a poster that we will send to the 390 Sicilian municipalities in order to be able to disseminate it in the town hall and other public buildings ".

Ample space will also be given to information campaigns aimed at municipalities and local health centers, starting with the dissemination of the Guidelines for the intervention and construction of a network between the Social Services of the Municipalities and the anti-violence centers, the first concrete result of the protocol. already stipulated at national level.

Finally, the signatories of the agreement will be able to plan common interventions based on community, national or regional resources and annually provide the data of the women welcomed in the anti-violence centers.
