Objectives de The Aurora

At the center of the short film is a young woman, Aurora, played by Margherita Mannino, and its story is told in a way that allows the viewer to identify with the protagonist, so from experience firsthand the inner journey that the same person takes to identify the cause of his malaise and develop awareness of the violence suffered.

The film wants to do reflect the viewer on their own personal experience: “Have I ever been in front of people who show signs like these, or similar? What have I done for them? Did I listen or did I show indifference and detachment, even impatience? ".

With the realization of The Aurora, Spazio Donna aims at to tear a veil that would always and in any case protect the family, especially in Italy, even the highly dysfunctional one, often to the detriment of women, girls and children who have suffered or witnessed violence, who act as a scapegoat and are called to passively bear and renounce a condition of physical and mental well-being.

The message proposed by the short film is that a change is always possible even in the conditions of greatest suffering, a message of hope and strength for all women who live in a condition similar to the protagonist and in contrast with the culture of endurance.

With the creation of the short film and the accompanying trailer, Spazio Donna has created a wide communication campaign aimed at to convey a culture of change in the perception of the consequences of gender-based violence, raise awareness of prejudice which are often acted upon against women, even those protagonists of episodes of crime news to which non-existent responsibilities and faults are attributed e implement the principles set out in art. 13 and 14 of the Istanbul Convention on the prevention and fight against violence against women and domestic violence, respectively on the importance of raising awareness of the community as a primary prevention tool of the phenomenon and of the need to educate young people in the culture of respect for genders and non-violence.
