D's hearing.i.Re – Donne in Rete contro la violenza sul DdL Femminicidio at the Senate Justice Committee has been cancelled following the change in the calendar of the Chamber. At the moment, the DdL Femminicidio is scheduled to be discussed in the Chamber on July 8, in the drafting office, for the final vote of the Assembly.
"We are concerned about the reiteration of centralizing methods that are determining many strategic decisions for the lives of many people" – declares Cristina Carelli, president of D.i.Re – Women on the Net against violence. "After having witnessed the blind approval of the Security Decree, we learned that the hearing of D.i.Re and other experts on the Femicide Bill scheduled for today, June 5, 2025, at the Senate Justice Committee has been cancelled” – continues Carelli. “It is serious that there is no space to listen to those who welcome women every day, support them in civil and criminal courts, and accompany them on their journey to freedom, for decades. Even more serious is the fact that the law was conceived and drafted without a preliminary dialogue with experts: a discussion with anti-violence centers could lead to the long-awaited construction of real and implementable integrated policies for prevention and contrast, without which a law that establishes the crime of femicide has the flavor of mere propaganda.” – concludes the president.
