“Women who are victims of violence can come to my house. If I am good”
RAI has taught Italian to millions of people.
Now she spreads sexism and trivializes violence against women
D.i.Re – Donne in Rete contro la violenza asks RAI to take a clear position regarding the statements – dismissed as a joke – made by Vittorio Feltri.
After listening to the unspeakable advice of Minister Nordio, we find ourselves having to comment on low-profile jokes that affect the tens of thousands of women who every year experience situations of mistreatment or violence, which undermine the dignity and memory of the thousands of women killed at the hands of a man.
"We ask that RAI take a public position regarding what happened in the program hosted by Piero Chiambretti” – declares Cristina Carelli, president of D.i.Re – Women on the Net against violence. "Actions to combat violence can also be supported through choices in which the various cultural agencies, including RAI, must begin to act as interpreters” – continues Carelli. “It would finally be the moment of adopt a certain language and express zero tolerance towards the misogynistic, sexist and violent culture we have witnessed” – concludes the president
