The idea of organizing a school of politics for the anti-violence centers of the network D.i.Re it has been structured over time also starting from the great participation in the two national seminars organized in Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2013 and 2014.

The School was born from the need for comparison between the different centers of the DiRe network to produce reflection and elaboration on male violence against women and the practices of the anti-violence centers and to redefine and update what was stated in the "Charter of the National Network of Anti-violence Centers and Women's Homes", drawn up in 2006, basic document on the political principles of the national network of anti-violence centers whose adhesion is preparatory to welcoming into the Association D.i.Re.

The idea is to question oneself about the processes of change, renew oneself, leave room for critical thinking, welcome the plurality of looks and dissent, starting from the interpretative scheme and methodology adopted in anti-violence centers. The training will therefore have as a central focus the connection between the theoretical elaborations of feminist thought that will be recalled, deepened and updated also in the light of the new regulatory devices adopted at European level, with the specific context in which the centers work.

It will be important to retrace feminist conceptualizations and practices, re-signify the founding assumptions, relaunch the political reading of the relationship between women and the social and cultural function of anti-violence centers, redefine the meaning of an intervention model that places women at the center, does not impose paths but takes into account the wishes and needs of women, evaluates their subjectivity and autonomy.

The objective is to activate an intense and effective reflection between all the different speech centers involved, contributing to enrich the specialist training of each of them so as to provide and share indications of good practices suitable for making homogeneous interventions to support and protect women. and policies to prevent and combat male violence against women at central and local level.

The function of the school will also be to strengthen our identity so as to highlight the differences between the centers of women who work according to feminist practice and all the other realities that are being proposed on the national and local scene. In a moment like this of collective celebrations and unprecedented media attention to the problem of male violence against women, it becomes even more important than ever that the voice and experience of anti-violence centers are able to differentiate themselves and propose forcefully and in recognizable way the value of a reading and an approach consolidated in decades of direct intervention with women, research and forms of prevention practiced.

The anti-violence centers have identified in the school of politics, intended as a permanent laboratory, in research, study, training and comparison the winning strategy for “Give yourself the word”.
