While the institutions continue to fail to provide the necessary answers to combat male violence against women, anti-violence centers D.i.Re - Women on the Net against violence see an increase, for the second consecutive year, in the number of women welcomed, with a increase, for now, equal to 14% on 2023 data.
With the detection of the number of women welcomed in 97% of the centers belonging to the D Network.i.King in first 10 months of the year, the number of women is 21.842.
The 12-month projection for the total number of women is 26.210 with a potential increase of 2023 women over 3.125.
In terms of monthly average, in 2024 the centers welcomed 2.184 women, compared to 1.924 in 2023.
"This year too the numbers are growing and more and more women are placing their trust in the experience and competence of our activists, responding to our requests” declares Antonella Veltri, president D.i.Re - Women on the Net against violence. “In fact, there are more and more women who decide to escape from situations of abuse or violence by turning to one of our centers, where they know they will find a non-judgmental and safe welcome, which guarantees anonymity, with free support in the exit process.” continues Veltri. “This data encourages us to continue with determination and tenacity our action to combat male violence, also trying to strengthen the prevention activities that we bring to society as a whole, from nursery schools to small and large companies in Italy.” concludes the president.
